I went to San Francisco this last weekend to shoot a wedding. I brought my brother along with me to help and hang out for a few days. After checking into our hotel room on friday I had a few moments to browse facebook before going to photograph the rehearsal dinner downtown. I noticed one of my favorite bands happened to be playing that night at 10pm in Half Moon Bay. It was about 30 minutes away from San Francisco. So after the dinner we drove over to the venue which happened to be a cozy little beach bar. It was a really laid back and relaxed setting, perfect for the location and the band. The bar owner let me bring my camera in and shoot some photos and video. It was pretty dark inside, aside from the purple lighting that illuminated the stage for the band. I shot everything without flash, on a Canon 6D 2500iso f/2.0 Images edited in Lightroom 4 with VSCO Film.
I know this isn’t wedding material but I figure in order to stay on fire and passionate about what you do, you should always find time to shoot what you love. I have a lot of personal stuff I document, mostly trips and I am going to start posting more of that along with recent weddings and portraits.
